Lindsay Williams has had the pleasure of teaching for several years now since graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Education. She specialized in early childhood education and is particularly passionate about teaching students to read. Lindsay started her teaching career in grades one and two but switched to teaching the Tanbridge junior kindergarten and kindergarten program several years ago. Outside of school, Lindsay can be found at the hockey and lacrosse rinks, cheering on her three boys. When she is not driving her boys to their games and practices, she loves to spend her time painting and finding new paths to run. Lindsay’s family enjoys camping and the challenge of new hiking trails they find along each of their adventures.
Lindsay finds it incredibly rewarding to play a major role in building the foundation for a lifetime love of learning in her students. Her kindergarten class is hands-on and play-based, rich in exploration and discovery. She loves observing the intrinsic curiosity of her students and developing centres and activities around their interests and passions, ensuring there is growing and fun happening every day. Lindsay is specialized in the Lively Letters phonics program and is committed to helping her students develop a strong literacy foundation to prepare them for grade one.
Lindsay feels so fortunate to have spent her whole teaching career with Tanbridge Academy. Working at Tanbridge has shown her what it is like to be part of a community. She appreciates that the Tanbridge families are supportive and passionate about their children’s education. She also enjoys that the Tanbridge team is a collaborative unit, constantly working together to provide the best possible learning journey for each student. Lindsay feels that being a part of Tanbridge Academy is being part of a family where everyone belongs and is part of the success of the school.
