Spanish Teacher

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Spanish Teacher to join our Tanbridge Academy Team. Our ideal candidate can speak and write fluently in Spanish and can get students excited about learning the language in the classroom. You will follow the Alberta Education curriculum for Grades 1-4 students in Social Studies and Science and create a curriculum that enables students to read and write in Spanish, as well as speak both formally and conversationally. Cultural studies should be integrated throughout the curriculum to give students perspective on the history and development of the language. You will also be responsible for Grade 1-9 Spanish Language classes for developing foundational reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in the Spanish language. You must have a valid teaching license to apply for this role.

Junior Programs Lead Educator

At Tanbridge Academy our Educators form the educational foundation for our students. In most cases their experience at our schools is the first introduction to an educational and structured program. Our teachers need to be able to effectively communicate with our students, parents, other staff, and the community. We are seeking a Lead Educator in our Junior Academy Program for ages 3-4 yrs and Junior Kindergarten Program for ages 4-5 yrs.

As a Lead Educator at Tanbridge Academy you will be responsible for:

  • Following class schedules
  • Teaching and modifying our curriculum
  • Developing lesson plans
  • Keeping daily logs, ensuring records are accurate and any required forms are filled out completely.
  • We are a licensed program, and you would be required to follow licensing regulations and ensure that the classroom is complying with licensing regulations.

As a supervising educator your role is to:

  • Oversee the classroom management and report to the director.
  • You would plan and prep for classroom activities, provide direction to the teachers and supervise the lessons and activities.
  • The supervising educator is responsible for monthly fire drills and safety logs, you would be one of the contact persons for our licensing officer and would ensure the classroom is operating in compliance within licensing regulations.
  • Being professional and courteous with our students and parents is very important. As an educator you will be required to maintain daily correspondence with parents, face to face meetings with parents and answering any questions and minor concerns by parents.
  • We are looking for a team player who is flexible and creative. Our teachers share a positive outlook, passion for educating, a patient temperament and an empathetic nature.
  • Working with children is a physically and emotionally demanding job our teachers need to be able to manage the classroom and ensure the safety of the children, themselves, and other staff.
  • The supervising educator is responsible for the daily cleaning schedule in the classroom and for directing the teachers and maintaining the organization of the classroom areas.

Qualifications:

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Criminal Record/ Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Minimum 2 yr experience in an educational children's program
  • Current Level 2 or 3 Certification
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Children's Development
