Leadership

Our students are given the opportunity to find their true selves and become the leaders of tomorrow through our intentional leadership program. Our leadership courses teach students the importance of accountability, generosity, mutual respect, responsibility, and collaboration. We have leadership classes for all our students from kindergarten to grade 9. Younger students will learn interpersonal and social skills, while classes for our older students focus on the Tanbridge Pillars: being tolerant, ambitious, noble, balanced, respectful, inspiring, diligent, generous, and enthusiastic. Topics include charity work, public speaking, study habits and financial planning.

Tanbridge Academy is also making an active effort to build a growth-mindset learning community. We have started this process by educating our teachers about how the brain works. Teachers also use a growth-mindset language in the classroom and provide intentional feedback to students. Through regular conferencing and modelling, we are teaching students how to create manageable and realistic goals for themselves and how to use challenging moments as an opportunity to grow and learn.
