Katie Marshall

Junior Kindergarten

Katie Marshall is a dedicated educator with a deep-rooted passion for teaching, following in the footsteps of two generations before her. Born and raised in Calgary, she spent her summers in Bozeman and Whitefish, Montana, fostering a love for the outdoors through hiking, fishing, and family visits. Her connection to Montana led her to the University of Montana, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

After completing her studies, Katie returned to Calgary and began her teaching career as a Grade 3/4 teacher at Calgary Academy. She stepped away from the classroom in 2002 to raise her children but remained active in her community, dedicating over 17 years to volunteer work with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, particularly supporting the Blood and Bone Marrow program, a cause close to her heart.

Katie’s passion for education never faded, and she thrives on fostering meaningful connections with students and colleagues. She is a lifelong learner who values collaboration and innovative teaching experiences. Her return to the classroom at Tanbridge Academy has been a fulfilling chapter, allowing her to share her enthusiasm for learning with a new generation of students.

Outside of teaching, Katie enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and gardening. She cherishes time spent with her family and appreciates every opportunity to explore the outdoors.
