Hailey Wort
Grade 1 Teacher
Hailey is a highly experienced educator who began her academic and professional journey in Toronto, Ontario. She earned both her Bachelor of Education and Honours English degree with high distinction from York University. Hailey began her teaching career in the Toronto school system, where she developed a strong foundation in creating inclusive, engaging, and student-centred learning environments.
To further broaden her professional and cultural perspective, Hailey spent a year teaching in Melbourne, Australia. This experience enhanced her ability to support diverse learners and deepened her global approach to education.
Beyond the classroom, Hailey has an extensive background as both a competitive athlete and coach in indoor and beach volleyball. Her coaching career spans Provincial, National, and International levels, including roles as Assistant Coach of the Taipei Professional Women’s indoor team, Head Coach for Team Ontario, Volleyball Canada, and the Ontario Summer Games. In recognition of her leadership and impact, Hailey was named the Female Developmental Coach of the Year, the youngest recipient, and received the Ontario Volleyball Association Recognition Award.
Through her work with athletes of varying ages and skill levels, Hailey has strengthened her ability to foster confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset—skills she brings directly into her teaching practice. Collectively, her educational and coaching experiences shape a dynamic, global, and approachable teaching style.
