Grade 5 Teacher
Madison Schmidt is an emerging educator passionate about creating a classroom where students feel valued, heard, and empowered. She believes meaningful learning happens when students feel safe to express themselves and take risks. Guided by the understanding that each student brings a unique story to the classroom, she fosters a supportive space where their voices are not only welcomed but celebrated, inspiring curiosity, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Relationships are at the heart of Madison’s teaching philosophy. She strives to understand her students as individuals, recognizing that their experiences, interests, and challenges shape their learning. Empathy plays a central role in her practice, guiding her interactions and fostering a classroom culture rooted in kindness, respect, and active listening.
Viewing teaching as a creative and dynamic process, Madison designs engaging lessons that spark curiosity and encourage critical thinking. She is committed to creating learning experiences that honor students’ diverse strengths and perspectives, empowering them to see themselves as capable, thoughtful, and connected members of their community.
Beyond the classroom, Madison’s passion for sports has shaped her character. As a member of Canada’s national women’s Underwater Hockey team, she has competed in two World Championships, developing perseverance, teamwork, and discipline. She is excited to bring this passion to Tanbridge, where she hopes to inspire students through the profound impact of athletics on confidence, well-being, and personal growth.
