Sienna Prince graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Education, specializing in elementary science. During her university experience, she had the honour and privilege of belonging to the Dino women’s soccer team as both a varsity athlete and a member of the leadership group, being a team captain. During her first year of university, she played on the University of Montana women’s soccer team and was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award. Sienna's love and passion for soccer and the development of young soccer players, as demonstrated through her coaching, technical training sessions and involvement in the Women and Girls in Sport program, led her to an interest in teaching. She began her teaching career as a substitute educator at Tanbridge Academy and transitioned into teaching grade six humanities and physical education. She currently teaches lower elementary, working with grade one and two students. In her free time, Sienna loves spending time in the mountains and being outdoors while enjoying activities such as biking, hiking, and snowboarding.

Sienna is enjoying her time teaching and working with the lower elementary children, as they bring a high level of engagement and joy to their learning, along with their positivity and curiosity each day! Sienna is enjoying the various hands-on learning activities and outcomes with her students. Sienna also previously enjoyed teaching academic courses, physical education courses, and soccer to a variety of grades, as it allowed her to connect with many students in various grades at Tanbridge Academy. In her classroom, she works with students to ensure their learning is engaging and beneficial to all. She has really enjoyed watching her students become invested in their learning, be supportive of each other, and strive to become the best versions of themselves. She loves working with her current grade one/two students and enjoys building a classroom community, beginning with the Seven Sacred Teachings, and creating a safe environment where each unique student feels valued and included. She begins each day with a class morning meeting and ends the day with a sharing circle to ensure that each student’s feelings and voice are heard. She aims to create quality literacy and math lessons that are sensory-focused and engaging while also providing a challenging and exciting experience for all students to continue to grow and excel.

When Sienna was a young student, she has fond memories of her soccer training sessions at Tanbridge Academy. She often wished to attend school at Tanbridge Academy, so when she joined the Tanbridge team in 2021, she felt it was exactly where she belonged! She loves teaching at Tanbridge Academy because it provides a very supportive environment for all staff and students. Being a part of the Tanbridge family has been such a positive experience for her and has provided her with the opportunity to connect with inspiring people. She enjoys the small class sizes that Tanbridge provides as she feels it ensures strong connections with her students and helps them succeed in their learning. Teaching at Tanbridge has fulfilled Sienna’s passion for learning, sport, and working with youth.
