Linda Choy

School Principal

Linda Choy has had the wonderful opportunity to be an educator for close to 30 years and has a tremendous passion for working with students and educators. She feels the passion and enthusiasm that both staff and students bring to Tanbridge Academy are remarkable.

Prior to joining Tanbridge, Linda was a teacher and an administrator at Calgary Academy for 19 years. She travelled to the United States to train teachers in a variety of study strategies and teaching techniques for two years. She completed her certification in Positive Education and has been incorporating those skills and concepts into the Tanbridge curriculum. Outside of school, Linda enjoys road-biking, travelling, and spending time with her two boys. Recently, Linda completed the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer, a 200-kilometre charity bike ride.

Linda has been the principal at Tanbridge Academy for over ten years now. Her educational experiences have provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with her teaching team to meet the goals of increasing student academic and athletic achievement, as well as their overall well-being. Her educational philosophy is based on the belief that all students can learn given a positive learning environment, strong leadership skills, a committed and caring educational team, and an encouraging community.

Linda is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of her students and the Tanbridge team. She is always focused on student success. She has led the implementation of new programs and best practices for teaching and learning. She creates positive relationships with her staff, students, and parents. She demonstrates extraordinary leadership by casting a vision with her staff and strategically planning for success. Her work ethic, passion, tireless commitment to excellence, and continued student achievement results are evident in the school climate and data on the Alberta Education Three-Year Plan.
