Educational Assistant - Junior Academy
Wanting to inspire children to grow and reach for the stars has always been something I have loved to do. My first job was working with young children as a gymnastics coach. It was a great introduction to working with children and watching them accomplish their goals. I then pursued my education in Equine Science and started running a horse breeding and training operation. My family started to grow, and as they did, my kids took over all of my time! My teaching journey started in 2016 when my oldest started preschool. I loved volunteering in the classroom and wanted to be part of it as much as possible. After realizing how much I loved it, I obtained my child development assistant certificate and started teaching in preschool and kindergarten classrooms. I absolutely adore coming to school every day and seeing all the little happy faces and inquisitive minds. My favourite part of teaching has been watching the kids develop and seeing their growth throughout the year.
My free time is spent in hockey rinks throughout southern Alberta all winter long, as both my children are involved in hockey. Then, in the spring and summer, I get to enjoy all the perks of living on a farm: dirt biking with my kids, gardening, trail riding and showing our horses across western Canada and the northwestern United States.
